This is totally unrelated to your post, but I just wanted to say how much I totally appreciate nursing right now. I had my mom remove a "gauze packing" for me and---holy fuck! That was the grossest weirdest thing ever, besides the time they removed my drain. I don't know how you do it. I had to go lay on the floor and vomit a little afterwards.

Well here is a secret sometime I spit up a little, seriously there are thing that make me queezy like Friday my lady threw up on me. Um yuck. And the dressing changes yes can be pretty bad and I am very glad that your mom is helping most families run from the room when I try and teach them how to do it. I couldn't imagine though to have to have one done. What you have been through this last year, you are a very strong person.

Gauze packings suck. Do they have to put one back in? When I had my cyst burst (which became known as my 2nd asshole), they had to remove it and put new gauze in daily.

It sucked.
